If I use a ND 3.0 (10 stop) filter on my 70-200mm lens, can I use the 5DIII's Live View to safely photograph the sun?

Or will I damage the sensor?

Taken with an ND 1000 (-10 stops) two days ago:

1/2000' f/13, iso 100, hand-held using viewfinder at 3pm.

The sun was strong and slightly blinding in the viewfinder despite the ND 1000, I was just able to focus quickly for the shot.

I wouldn't like to try it without such a strong filter unless the sun were much much lower (which I do for sunsets).
7D + 100-400mm L @ 400mm

I know, I'm resurrecting this thread from the dead, but please dont look into your viewfinder at the sun with just an ND filter on your lens.  ND filters will not block UV or infrared rays which can and may have damaged your vision.  Use a solar filter if you plan to look into your viewfinder.
