I have an A350, A900, A77, and a A77m2.  I have both the 70-400mm G and the 70-400 G2 Sony lens.  I have the Kenko Pro 1.4 and the Sony 1.4 telecoverters.

Where do I start.  The Kenko 1.4 T/C will not physically mount on Sony 'G' series lenses.  Second, strap either of the two 70-400 Sony 'G' series  70-400s to the Sony 1.4 T/C and then mount it to any of the four bodies above AND. you have to shoot on manual.  Any of the camera body and lens combinations WILL NOT AF.

With the ILC A77m2 and the newest 70-400mm I can hold my own with my $3300 rig against the Canon and Nikon $10 to $20 thousand rigs in stills, but especially BIF.  This combo snaps on the bird in flight faster than my old Southern brain can realize it has.

As for the Tamron lenses,  I have used the Tamron 200-500 DI and a 18-200 for 6 years.  Just rented the new Tamron 150-600mm.  Something happened in shipment and it would not AF.  However, I took some shots manually using the Sony 'Peaking Level' as an aid and they looked pretty sharp.

My photos are posted on and looking mainly at the 2013 and 2014 galleries you will see the results and discussions about the equipment used in the galleries.
