The great, secret Canon EF Lenses
Aug 31, 2014

I have been following the forum for a while and I am wondering, what are the great, secret Canon EF lenses, the lenses that are cheaper and great to have. They may be older, they're definitely less expensive, they may not have IS, etc. Maybe you can help educate me.

These are the ones I know about. I am specifically interested in lenses that are good with the 6D.

Canon 80-210 2.8 "Magic Drainpipe": Big, heavy, optically excellent.

Tamron 28-75 2.8: Small, bright, a little noisy, great for a ~$300 lens.

Canon 24-105f4 L: It's a great walkaround, and a bargain when purchased with the 6D.

Canon 40mm pancake: Nice, sharp 2.8 prime. You won't find anything smaller than that!

Tamron 70-300 4-5.6: Surprisingly good optics, unstabilized is actually better than VC.

There must be more!
