a99v Movie Mode Aperture Setting Question
4 months ago

Recently I have been trying to learn more about using a99v to make videos.

It seems to me that if I use AF, then no matter whether I select Movie P mode or push the Movie button directly in stills mode, I can't change the aperture, or the shutter speed for that matter. The aperture in those two situation is set permanently at 3.5. Is this the right behavior?

On page 154 of the user manual it says Movie Program Auto mode "Allows you to shoot with the exposure adjusted automatically (both the shutter speed and the aperture value). The other
settings can be adjusted manually, and your setting values
can be saved." But I can't seem to figure out how to do it.

I know that if I use MF, I can change either the aperture or shutter speed anyway I want.

I am just trying to figure out if I can change the aperture/shutter speed in AF mode.

Appreciate any insight/help on this!
