D810 image @ 12800 ISO, mixed lighting condition
2 weeks ago

Hello everyone,

In one of the threads, there is/was a discussion that D810 when used at 12800 ISO has banding.

I've been using the camera for almost a month now & I've never seen this problem. Please see the DropBox link below to download a full-resolution image shot at 12800 ISO.

Original image was a RAW & this is a straight conversion using ViewNX2 without any change in camera-settings. Shot using a D810 with a 24-70mm F/2.8 G Nikkor @ 70mm F/5.6, 1/400s, custom white balance (spot white balance) in terrible mixed light condition. Also low light. Image has little or no artistic value, just a casual shot to check ISO performance. This image was printed @ 24x16 inches (almost the actual print size of a D810) & has little or no grain that shows up

Have shot more than 4000 images & not one instance of banding.

Thanks for taking a look.
