Chromatic aberation (CA)

I noticed something strange about my new glasses. They exhibit massive amounts of chromatic aberration. When driving, I can look at the horizon thru the upper part on my glasses and see a very large distinct blue halo on the horizon and around street signs.  Tilting my head back I can reach a point where the halo disappears, then tilting my head back even further a red halo appears.  This is the first time I have ordered shatterproof lenses and I think chromatic aberration is the reason these lenses were described to me as being "not quite as sharp" as regular lenses.  I wonder how many people who complain about "too much CA"  are complaining about their own glasses instead of the lens they are evaluating?

I'm a little fuzzy on that.
