What happened to the Fuji philosophy of Kaizen?

I had high hopes that the X-E2 would benefit from the development of the X-T1 but it seems to have stagnated.

When the X-E2 was announced in October 2013 we were told things like the WIFI were very basic, but the functionality seen in other cameras would come via firmware. It's nearly a year since and no sign of it - but the X-T1 has it so why not include it with the X-E2?

Also the bitrate for video seems to have improved for the little X30 and no sign of this being passed to the X-E2. Those who claim to be in the know only ever talk of the X-T1 "possibly" benefiting from this.

With the last proper firmware update for the X-E2 being April, does Kaizen really exist?
