SDXC card can't be mounted in MacOS

Hi all,

I have an annoying problem. I have a sony 64GB Class-10 SDXC card. If I format it in my Mac and then use it in my camera, it always seems fine. If I format it in my camera (in this case Samsung EX2f), I can't mount the card in my Mac. It mounts fine in Windows, so I will just mount in windows and then upload to dropbox or something, but it's really a pain since I have no windows machine on hand now.  I may try installing ubuntu via VirtualBox if I don't get access to a windows machine soon.

DiskUtility on Mac reports an exFAT filesystem but the OS refuses to mount it. "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer."  This is common behavior across various OS versions (10.6, 10.7, 10.9) and hardware (iMac, macBookAir).  The third party data recovery apps (e.g. iSkysoft) see the jpg files, but don't see the Samsung RAW files (I think they are simply not looking for the .SWR files).

Just curious about anyone else with a similar problem with different SD cards and/or cameras.  I had this happen before and swore not to do it again, but I must have inadvertently formatted the card in my camera when I wasn't thinking.

Thanks!
