I agree with you here.  I have done several tests with mine and haven't been able to generate anything I would call an issue.  I have been using the camera for 3 weeks and it has worked flawlessly (other than operator error, of course).

At this point, the risks of sending the camera in certainly seem to outweigh the benefits, so I am going to hold off for now.
