On the first leg of my goat hunt/climb up Cardiff Peak (which ever came first) I found a Blue (Dusky) Grouse that was kind enough to let me take her photo. These guys are usually gone by the time you and your camera are ready to take a picture.
On the way up I saw this ground squirrel, so I thought I would stop and take a pano of him.
Here is a closer shot of the same squirrel above.
A view of the Pfeifferhorn on the way up to the top of the ridge line. No goats in sight.
The ridge line leading to the top of Cardiff peak. No goats in sight.
At the top. Looking North along the Wasatch Front. No goats in sight.
At the top looking West. Salt Lake City, and the Great Salt Lake can be seen distant upper middle. No goats in sight.
A chipmunk that invited himself to lunch. Good times I tell ya, good times.
Just as I was packing up for the hike down, this guy appeared on the cliffs below me.
He was heading in my direction very slowly, unfortunately I did not have time to wait. I watched him for awhile and went on my way. I was just happy knowing that I was successful in my quest for the reason I climbed the mountain.
A Pika i stopped to chat with on the way down.
