Shotty PD focusing system. QC issues?

D800 - different copies, plus repairs with tight tolerances - continued pd unpredictability.

Not sure what to say about this camera.  Mega frustrating.  Same lenses on different bodies do not yield same problems.  Mansurov etc. seem to have similar complaints - but this doesn't seem to get much press.  Basically not reliable through the viewfinder, which sucks because it makes nice images.  Perfect in liveview.  Video is beautiful - but somewhat limited compared to competition.

Breakdown:  PD autofocus is unpredictable.  AF fine tune / nikon repairs cannot establish accuracy or precision on a reliable / predictable basis - which would give me confidence in this camera.  Last copy on its way back from nikon, will update if this ever gets resolved.  Had to make do with other cameras for a long time - wanting this to be corrected.  Sucker for that iq though.
