Turtle ID with the LX-7?
Loving the LX-7 macro mode again. Sun was setting behind the tree-line and this turtle was in shade as well, so appreciated the fast lens. Most of all, I appreciate being able to put the camera up close to the subject along with the image stabilization. Easy camera to carry around and nice image quality.
I live in eastern Ontario, Canada. I am not sure how many species of turtles we have up here. This turtle appears to be a very young one measuring from back of shell to head the length of an iPhone 5.
My first thought was baby snapping turtle but the back of the shell does not have ridges. Any ideas based on these images? Thanks for any help.
Front shot with LX-7. Almost full-frame in macro mode.
This shot was taken in better light. Close-up of head in macro mode.
I know you mean well but please do not embed my images into the forum. Thanks for respecting that.
