Question about a Metabones adapter setting
Aug 15, 2014

Hello -- I contacted the company but still can't get a clear answer to my question about a Metabones Nikon G to Micro 4/3 adapter.

My Nikon lens collection includes both F and G lenses so I purchased the Metabones adapter that includes an aperture ring. I understand that the ring must be set to the "7" setting when mounting a lens. But What is the "F" setting on the ring used for? The numbers go from 7 to 1 (left to right), then there's the "F" setting to the right of the 1. Under what circumstances would I rotate the adapter ring to the "F"?

I know the adapter is intended for use with G lenses (no aperture ring on the lens) but it would be nice if there were some instructions on how to best use the adapter with F lenses too.

Thanks!
