How essential is OSS/VC in a standard prime lens?

I'm looking for a prime lens for my Sony A6000. Two lenses come to mind, the Sony 35/1.8 with OSS at $449, and the Sigma 30/2.8 at $169 with no image stabilization. The Sony has the 1-stop advantage plus the Optical Stabilization. So my question is, when using a prime lens wide open and indoors, a slow shutter speed is often required. Is the OSS feature really worth the steep increase in price?

Even though you are on the right track - you will get run over if you just sit there.
