x-t1 focusing problems in tough conditions

Just want to ask you guys if that's normal behavior for x-t1.

I took my camera to my nephew's wedding and was shooting from time to time not interfering with main photographers. What I noticed is that at extreme conditions focusing system wasn't adequate. For example
- single focus on moving target took close to a second to lock and I missed shots because of that.
- sometimes focus was locked clearly outside of selected focusing point, although focusing point was on a persons face (face would fill all the square)
- in low light (iso 6400, f1.2-1.4, 1/60) focus was super slow and missed about 60% of the time. (First dance)
Have to admit, my focus assist light was off.

Usually I don't notice those problems since I have enough time to refocus in most of the situations, but if you use your camera at paid events that require focusing speed and accuracy, how do you deal with this problem (if it even exists for you)?
