Nikon D7100/Nikkor 17-55mm F2.8 focusing problem

Hi guys,

I just purchased a D7100 and started to test the focusing with the Nikkor 17-55mm F2.8 lens.

Settings:

Aperture Priority using 3 different aperture settings (2.8, 5.6, 11).

Fixed focal length and ISO (200), AF-S center focus point, defocusing before each shot.

Camera on tripod

Interestingly, I noticed that while the centre of the image is fairly sharp at 100% at all appertures, the upper right hand corner of the image appears to be blurry/out of focus for the picture taken at F5.6 but not so with those taken at F2.8 or F11. The problem is reproducible.

I've uploaded the full sized photos to Google+, you have to use your mouse to manually zoom in:

I would appreciate any feedback on this issue. Thanks in advance.
