A few rough comparison shots with the 18-135 and 55-200

In this first shot at about 55mm (lighting is different, apologies) you can see the 18-135 is as sharp. All shots are handheld with OIS on. Please open full size. This is a 100% zoom screenshot.

Here is another with the 18-135 fully extended in macro mode, handheld. No zoom in LR.

Admittedly there is a tad of blur, but that is my fault for not using a tripod.

I will of course keep shooting different subjects (need to get some real landscapes at 18mm and compare to my 1024) but so far I am very impressed. If you don't need a fast lens, this is a gem.

OIS is also better than on the 55200 IMO. Not just in stops, but stabilization.

Hopefully I can post a few landscapes this evening.
