I'm OK with the size and weight of APS-C sized gear, any IQ reason to go M4/3?

I'm OK with the size and weight of APS-C sized gear, any IQ reason to go M4/3?

I've heard several pros state that they are switching from FF to M4/3 format, e.g. "This Week In Photo" contributing photographers.
They say images look great and gear is much smaller, but I'm wondering where APS-C format gear falls in the equation.
Is APS-C gear still just too large without significantly better IQ than M4/3?
Why bypass the larger APS-C sensor in favor of M4/3?
Is weight the most influential deciding factor?

Thanks for your thoughts.
