Which cord/trigger for X100 and X-E1 with manual Yongnuo 460 Flash?

I'm wanting to hand-hold my flash up to 24 inches away from my body while holding the camera. Of course, further would be better to allow the flexibility for using it in a studio setting as well. I'll be using the X100 AND the X-E1 with the same Yongnuo 460 flash. This means that I'll be working manually, not TTL. I want something as inexpensive as possible that will fully work with both and allow me to handhold without the cord being in front of the lens.

This is the one that seems best for those needs so far.

I'm interested in the corded approach mostly in order to reduce my battery costs, but if triggers don't wear down batteries quickly, I might be persuaded to choose something else.

Would you recommend something else instead? Thanks for your time.
