So from the average response here in this thread, it seems that the overwhelming majority of users prefer to shoot with an EVF/OVF , and defer the use of the rear LCD to shots with a difficult angle or to macro shots on a tripod. Certainly the capture of moving objects is easier using a viewfinder as it gives that immersive composing view that no LCD held at arm's length can provide. The viewfinder has always been the preferred method to frame and compose, except for studio shots of rather static subjects . The added comfort of additional digital information to the image viewed in EVFs makes them the ideal interface between machine and eye.
