PhotographerCentral.com flawed in thinking?
I've been happily hosting my website on Zenfolio.com for the last couple of years... and they offered a sweet deal to jump on to their new endeavor, PhotographerCentral.com. I did the 5 listing package and put up two sites. Been up for about a month, and not a call. My work, which is really photo illustration, rather than photography, has a different national/international target for clientele, but I thought I'd give it a shot, aiming at Boston (my home) and NYC. I put up a site for my photo illos, and another with photo edits Ive been doing with models in trade for their time, toward my own royalty free library to make illos with....
I was thinking that this is squarely aimed at wedding, event, and portraiture, given the local focus... but is this venture by Zenfolio fundamentally flawed in thinking when it comes to how clients find photographers? Curious to know your thoughts.
