Choosing group shot lens, with crop factor taken into account
2 months ago

I have a D7100 and only these lenses:

50mm Af-S f/1.8D

18-55 AF-S f/3.5-5.6

55-200 AF-S f/4-5.6

I would like a nicer, wider angle lens than the 18-55 kit lens, because I need to be able to take family portraits. I am wondering if I should buy a more wide-angle prime lens or if a zoom lens is a better option?

With the crop factor taken into account, what prime lens (24, 28, 35) would you recommend I invest in next?

Or, if not a prime lens, which zoom lens?

I'm not working with a large budget, as you might guess

Thank you!
