How important is video in your DSLR ?

I look at it the same reason why people want a fast lens. I rarely shoot below f4, but its nice to have if you need it.

Same for video, I rarely use it, but occasionally its great. Often, when travelling you'll come across some traditional music/dance etc. Photos are nice, but video captures everything including the music and the movement. sometimes its nice to have a bit of both!

There are also many dedicated film makers out there that have bought a dSLR rather than a dedicated video camera (most likely they were overpriced!) and would rarely shoot stills with it!

It used to be the case you buy a video camera for video and a stills cameras for photography, but that is no longer the case as a single camera can do both very well.

Then again I have a gopro for action shots/films and see people use them as stills cameras with no real idea of whats in the frame!
