You can duplicate ANY shot taken on the planet earth, with ANY camera system. True, the shooting methods, and techniques will change, but IMO the whole idea is ludicrous.

With digital is the choice of camera irrelevant to the subject? If not, why do we have a gamma of products that run from the cell phone to a medium format Phase One?

To use a analogue camera comparison I could never have taken these pictures with my 5x4 or even my 120 kit due to speed of operation and lens availabilty. http://nigelvoak.blogspot.it/2013/11/another-age.html

To return to M43. I can take good (DSLR) quality photographs using a large range of focal lengths when hiking over long distances often over difficult terrain and under the hot Italian sun with M43 that would be difficult with a larger kit due to the exhaustion caused by carrying a heavier kit. A smaller P&S or cell phone just doesn’t give me the same quality.

I would never have managed this 10 hour hike carrying my old D300 and a couple of good lenses. http://nigelvoak.blogspot.it/2014/08/portofino.html (second part of the blog post)

True you can take a picture of any subject using any camera but for practical reasons one ideally chooses the right camera to photograph the subject in hand.

So is my question so ludicrous?

I carry and walk for hours with a Canon 500 F/4.5L on the NEX and did on the Panny G2 as well, I'm going on 60, so as long as you are fit and your body works fine, I can't see a problem.

It comes down to lenses more than anything IMO, but there is not a lot there for m4/3 or NEX for serious wildlife and sports shooters. So that's the limit and what can be taken and unique between cameras. M4/3 is not unique in the lens and shot department, the lenses are for different systems though.

All the best.

Danny.
