SX50 and two days spent in great company

My wonderful brother Allan (seven years my senior) and his charming wife Wendy spent a couple of days with me after travelling up from South Wales. They particularly wanted to see the famous David Austin Roses at Albrighton Nr Wolverhampton. Thus: a selection of images for those who like roses, shot with the SX50 in Av; ISO 80; and continuous shooting mode so I could be ‘picky’.

The following day was a bit more overcast unfortunately, so I took them to the Avoncroft Outdoor Museum of Historical Buildings, very local to where I live.

Wendy trying to find the bullseye!

Arrow captured in flight.

Exposure: 1/6 sec inside a windmill.

Nuts and bolts and bits of old rope a windmill maketh.

A bit of practice with very low light photography.

There is little to appreciate how low the light was in these last two shots. The shutter speed is your best guide.

The following image: Canon PowerShot SX50 HS

ISO: 80

Exposure: 1/2 sec

Aperture: 3.4

Focal Length: 4.3mm

Flash Used: No

(Does anyone remember their first TV?)

Regards to all, and thanks for looking.

Keith
