Panasonic fz1000 or tamron 16-300mm lens for my canon 600d

I am considering to buy the Panasonic fz1000 f2.8-4 25-400mm cameraas I feel it will be a compact and good camera to take while hiking and probably do some high altitude climbing. However I have canon 600d and I am also considering as analternative to buy the tamron 16-300mm lens so my question is that in terms of image quality which would be better.

I currently have a tamron 70-300mm vc lens which is superior than the tamron 16-300mm but i want that wide reach for landscape photography as well as shooting birds and wildlife and some macro.
