Recommended Lens for these activities

I'm going to upgrade my point and shoot to a 60D (picture quality/ease of use/price). As such I've picked out my first lens as the Canon EF-S 17-55 F/2.8 IS USM.

My plans are to use this for the following (in order of priority):

Newborn Baby Pictures

Portraits

Walkabout street photography

Landscape/Architecture (Europe/Castles/Towns/etc.)

Museums (Louve/National Gallery of London/etc.)

Some nightlife/night sky shots

Possible backup photographer for Weddings

Here is my question/discussion. What additional lens are best of class for these activities. My goal is to have 2-4 quality lenses for a crop camera that cover these activities.

For landscape I've heard that the Canon EF-S 10-22mm F/3.5-4.5 USM is a good choice.

For Portraits I'm unsure if the Canon 35mm F/2 IS or the Canon 50mm 1.4 is better or even necessary considering my first lens.

What are your thoughts dpreview?
