Better Camera and Post Processing

Regardless of brand (make) and model and fitted with (what could be considered) the best lens of that camera manufacturer,  which is a better camera . . . the one take take a pleasing picture or the one that captures the image complete with the minute details, color, lighting in exactly as it is.
If the latest and greatest model (of any camera) captures perfect image of the subject and lighting, then why bother with post processing?
