a6000 Face Detect Question

The face detection feature is quite handy in the a6000, but what I do not like it's that sometimes it tends to over-expose the background way too much as I guess it meters the subject and tries to expose the face correctly in certain conditions.
Thing is, sometimes it really makes the background too over-exposed when it isn't necessary. (I tested focusing on the person's face without face detect and both the person and background came out perfect without any over-exposure).

Is there a way to modify this feature by just having the camera detect the face without making the background scene brighter?

Sony a6000
