Motor-assisted focusing rings are too stiff for me

I have owned the Pana 20mm 1.7 and found that its focusing ring is irritatingly stiff. It not only takes effort to turn, from end to end it is more than one entire revolution. For manual focusing, this quickly becomes an incumberance, especially if you're shooting video. I've tried the 14mm too and, again, too stiff for me and too long between focusing ends.

I was wondering if there are any other lenses out ther that have more friendly focusing rings, as in, easier to turn and without so much turning between focusing limits. Are the Olys better at this? Is it because of the motor-assisted mechanism?
