Windows Surface Pro - Good For Photographic Travels
Jul 30, 2014

Having spent a few years trying to make the best use of iPads and Android tablets for photographic use while travelling, I recently purchased a Surface Pro and I think that it (or an ultra book) may be the best solution really.

Yes it's heavier than a tablet and Windows 8.1 is neither foul nor beast, but there are some simple advantages.

1. The file manager can be used to copy files from the camera to computer, storage sort, manage and review them without fuss.

2. There is a built in full USB port, two would be better.

3. Standard keyboard (Type Cover) and mouse (Bluetooth).

4. Fully fledged Windows application such as Canon DPP can be run.

It's early days (with the Surface Pro) yet but I an beginning to think that I might ditch the use tablets for photographic use on the road.
