CarryOn Jib? I don't get it. :(

A new Kickstarter campaign:

Okay, looks interesting - BUT - look at this:

http://www.telescope.com/Orion-Paragon-Plus-Binocular-Mount-without-Tripod/p/5376.uts?keyword=binocular%20arm

I have been using one of these Orion arms for over 20 years.  The tripod is sold seperately, and it is extremely easy to place a tripod head on the spot where the binocular support goes.  I know, I have done so in the past.

The other thing is, there are a few versions/brands of these "binocular mounts" out there.  First time I saw one was at Stellafane about 30 years ago.

Do the people who start these "new" products and kickstarter campaigns really do in depth market research ahead of time?  Just wondering.
