What do you mean by equivalence?

If you are going to talk about equivalence it is helpful if we know what you mean by the word equivalence. To me as a neophyte equivalence means the state of having equal values. Of course we are talking about equivalence as it pertains to photography so it means the state of photographic things having equal values. That would be things such as AOV, apertures, DOF, exposure values, etc. It can be anything pertaining to photography that you choose, but you do have to say what it is you choose.

Equivalence in the context of a single sensor size seems to be pretty straightforward and not particularly interesting as a discussion topic. It is when different sensor sizes are involved that the discussions get interesting.

That is my opinion. What is yours?
