6d shutter failure - Only owned for 2 weeks
2 months ago

Hello all,

I purchased a 6d to supplement my 5diii about 2 weeks ago. During those two weeks, I took around 1000 pictures in order to learn the camera as well as I could. Thursday, I was toying around with some off camera strobe shots and had about 12 pictures in a row where the top third of the frame was exposed well and the bottom 2/3 were pitch black with a distinct line separating the dark and exposed areas. After that, it fired a handful of shots with no issues, then went back to what appeared to be shutter failure. Fortunately, I am within my Adorama return period and it's on the way now.

I asked for a refund as I am now a little hesitant to rely on a 6d again. However, I am now feeling that's really my best bet if I want a second camera.

Anyone hear of this quick of a shutter failure?

Canon EOS 6D
