Funny, but it remember the exact same conversation about the 56 f1.2 claiming it would also cost close to $1500 and how no one would buy it. Well, a year later, with a price of $999 I'm not all too concerned that a 90 f2 will cost $1500-$1700. Does anyone actually think this lens will cost $500 more than say the Canon EF 135 f2 which costs a little over $1000. I actually picture this lens in the same price range as the 14mm or 56mm.

I agree. I wondered about that too. As you say, the larger 135/2 is only $1100, and you can get an 85/1.8 for $400. I would think it would cost $800, because, well, that is what Fuji lenses cost, and it will be well-corrected optically, but I don't see it even being $1000.

Not because I think they are good, but because I would like to improve (feel free to provide me with feedback):

Not to mention that the Voigtlander 75mm f1.8 Heliar (albeit manual focus) is only $699 and optically an excellent lens and of a build quality much like the Fuji lenses.
