Hot shoe rail for red dot sight

It appears that hot shoe-mounted red dot sights are no longer available.

This rail seems to work very nicely as a mount for a commercial RDS

http://www.miniinthebox.com/slr-camera-hot-shoe-mount-20mm-rail-sight-red-dot-sight-installed-quickly-find-the-subject_p1604411.html

The rail is all metal, and the threaded hot shoe stud is grooved to fit snugly to the rail, and to prevent rotation of the rail on the stud.

Here's the RDS (originally from Brando) mounted on the rail

When inserted in the hotshoe, and secured by the nut, the unit mounts firmly and does not rotate. (As noted in the other thread, I prefer to push the foot firmly forward in the shoe before turning the nut for consistent aiming, since the foot is a bit narrower than the shoe)

as far as I can determine, any RDS which is compatible with a 20mm rail should work ok here.
