Nikon D810 Battery Charger - Can it be Modified?

Hi guys,

I'm concerned about the D810's batter charger. Its one of those flipup-flip-down, removable plug types, which doesn't have a cord (convenient for travel, I guess).  However, I have the D700's charger, which does have a cord -- and the cord has the exact same male-female proprietary ends as the D810's charger and its removable plug.  My assumption is that since the D810's charger plug is removable, the D700's cord could be substituted for the plug (D700 cord coming out of the D810 charger). I want this, because I'd rather use the D700 cord than use an extension cord.  Can you help assure me this is the case?   They are labeled like this:

JET LINETEK 125V-7A and NIKON JET 125V-7A

One is a plug -- the other is a cord.

D810 Comes with this (Plug is removable) - NO CORD:

And I want to take the cord from my D700's MH-18a (and put it on the D810's MH-25a):

D700 MH-18a is labeld like this:
Input 120V~60Hz .25A
Output 8.4V=.9A

D810 MH-25a is labeled like this:
Input 120V~60Hz 0.2A
Input 100-240V~50/60Hz
21 VA (100V)-28VA (240V)
Output 8.4V=1.2A

D700 Cord, which I want to use to replace the D810's charger plug:
