A99, set to APS-C or Purchase New APS-C Camera

I usually use my A99 with CZ 16-35mm, 24-70mm or Sony G 70-400mm (all very heavy configuration). I want to reduce weight but maintain decent image quality. I am also trying to be cost conscious in achieving my goal.

I am experimenting with APS-C mode on my A99 and much lighter lenses (and considering getting the Sigma 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 DC Macro HSM -$349 and weighs 1 lb.). This will give me a great zoom range and much lighter for hiking.

The other and much more expensive option would be to purchase a new A6000 with the 18-200mm, $1546.

Here are some shots I did with my A99 set to APS-C mode (all but one image shot w/70-210mm f/4 and ISO 200, 800 and 2000):
