Milky way with Panasonic G5

So I am off to Madagascar fairly soon. I will be going to some very remote places with I suspect almost no light pollution. I really fancy trying some milky way shoots when I'm out there. However, I have never so much pointed my camera at the night sky so was hoping for some tips, particularly with regards to focus. I always use autofocus, which is not going to work on the night I don't suspect. I understand that a fast aperture and high iso are probably essential as well as a shutter speed of somewhere between 10-25 seconds. I have a newly purchased G5 with the 14-42 mark ii, 45-200 and 20, so will probably use the 20 for attempting this shot. So really, my question is, what should I be focusing on and how? Many thanks!
