Charity is not an adequate means to look after societies problems etc.

That's why Liberals support strong GOVT based "social programmes" and Conservatives don't.

It's everyone's duty (via taxes) to support societies dysfunction...not merely those who chose to voluntarily give selectively via a charity.

and everyone does - you act as if republicans dont pay into these programs just as much as democrats do - fact is not only do republicans pay into these programs, but they take it a step further and ALSO give to charity

so tell me who is the more giving person

the guy who reaches into his own pocket voluntarily or gives his own time and effort on top of paying his taxes?

or

the guy who supports government programs and thinks paying the taxes is enough?

Plus, charities do not have the means to help on a nationwide level.

it would seem that liberals might "care" but they dont actually do anything where as conservatives actually help
