This is where I'd normally write an impressive summary of my skills and proficiencies.

It's patently obvious (speaking as someone who has used the A7 and A7R) that the Sony A7 body was originally designed for the 24mp sensor with PDAF on sensor. The A7 itself, is a great little mirrorless camera that I've grown to be a fan of. All it needs is a good wide angle prime and it would get lots of use.

The A7R, which I bought because I liked the A7 and liked my D800E, wasn't so great. It smacks of a marketing decision to cram a sensor and shutter together into a body patently unsuitable for them.

All in all, the A7R isn't really a competitor for the D810/800/E
