Improved Grip Without the Bulk

I bought a K5 a few years ago and have been getting along fine with it.  A few months ago I picked up a friends Canon 7D and loved the size and feel of the grip.  Since then the feel in hand of my K5 has been less than pleasant.  I know you are technically supposed to support the camera with your left hand and just shoot with your right, but in between I am usually holding the camera only with my right.  I bought a battery grip, and that helps a ton, but I hate the extra bulk and don't need the extra weight or juice.  I have thought about making my own thin and light grip extension, but don't have the time lately to make a nice piece.  I searched the web but found nothing.

Does such a grip extension exist?

Does anyone have any examples or ideas?
