Birding with 70-200+1.7tc

We recently took a trip to Nova Scotia and included a puffin-watching boat trip on Cape Breton Island.  Below are some of the images I shot.  They were shot with a D5100+70-200 f4+1.7tc. Obviously, many of the posters here are gear heads (me included) and many people people sniff that images are "soft" with the 1.7tc. I shot these images with an entry level camera from a moving boat. The eagles were close so I had to zoom out as much as I could but the puffins were a long way away and the images are heavily cropped. I think they came out OK. The lesson for me was that, handled well, even "amateur" equipment and a tc on a zoom can produce decent results.
