As reported in a DPR N1 V3 discussion, it looks like the sales of mirrorless cameras has taken a big jump, globally as their acceptance and popularity is on the rise.

The shipment of Mirrorless +38%
The shipment of DSLR -13%
The shipment of Compact -40%

Discussion?

Economic recovery?

Mirrorless pricing? (I assume that growth is in lower-priced offerings)

Asia is big on mirrorless, US not so much.

In Europe (big) stores, mirrorless cameras still shows up with the P&S crowd - and are not viewed as 'real camera's, imho.

Big hands and lack of buttons/features are hindrances to get a 'real camera' stamp from customers.

The cell phone cameras have gotten a lot better recently as well - everyone will see this and use the cell phone cameras more often than a 'true' camera. This mainly affects the P&S camera market - with the Hero GoPro being the one exception, currently.
