The great HS50 size setting controversy!
1

I have been following the ongoing, never ending debate about the correct, optimum settings for EXR cameras since I started following this forum. After reading all the different opinions I am still confused as to how the Fuji engineers wanted the camera to be used.

Then, while playing with the camera, and trying different combinations of settings I discovered that Fuji actually has made proper picture size settings built in!

When set to any EXR mode, the L picture setting is not available! Picture size defaults to Auto; it can be adjusted between M or S and different aspect ratios, but not L. In any other mode, such as P, A, S, or M, or any Scene mode, all three sizes, L, M or S are available.

Unless I've missed something it seems pretty clear. When using EXR I will be getting M size files, when using P I will set picture size to L. What is all the controversy then?
