A useful chroma resolution test for someone who has a Quattro
Jul 2, 2014

A test to determine whether spatial chroma resolution has really dropped, in red and green, that is.

  1. Buy, or print with your inkjet printer, 12 pages that have no white on them but rather each is entirely red, green and blue. So we need 4 reds, 4 greens and 4 blues.
  2. Affix these pages to a long wood board or similar e.g. using tape or tacks, in a row. They should be red, then green, then blue alternating.
  3. Take that board to the end of a field and leave it there.
  4. Walk to the other end of the field and photograph it from such a distance that each page occupies exactly one pixel site on the DP2 Quattro's sensor.

This might also be a good test for a DP2 Merrill or DP3 Merrill, albeit at different distances.
