Found a New Home for my K200D

Friends - I'm kind of rambling here:

Since purchasing my K5 a few years ago, my trusty old K200D has seen very little use, only as a backup.  Last week, while visiting with a coworker, I heard her complaining about her P&S camera, particularly that its shutter lag was resulting in her not getting the shots she wants of her young kids.  So I loaned her the K200D with its original 18-50mm version II lens and told her to play with it over the weekend and let me know if she liked it.  Even though a little intimidated by all the buttons and controls, she loves the camera.  Today, I'm letting the kit go for $150.  I think I would have been able to get $50-100 more elsewhere, but I'm happy it's going to somebody I know will put it to good meaningful use.

So now, while I'm feeling very good that the camera will once again be used and appreciated, I'm also a little sad - it has been a great camera to me.  My handling it again over the past week has rekindled my appreciation and emotional attachment to it.  It is such a solidly well-built and well-featured camera that is easy to hold in the hand, especially considering that it was Pentax's consumer level camera (behind the K-20) when it came out.

Isn't it silly how we (or at least I) can become emotionally attached to a devise/machine?  Another example, I still have my original SLR from the mid '70s (a KX) and can't imagine ever parting with it.

Soon I'll soon be buying a K3, relegating my beloved K5 to backup status...the start of a new cycle I guess  .

Enough rambling....

Best regards,

Daryl
