Thanks for sharing this Kevin.  I do believe Apple is taking Photos to a place where it is better overall for the consumer using Apple hardware.  So even if you are a pro photographer if you use a Mac or iPads in your workflow, Apple is going to make it easier.  Trey Ratcliff (a well known photographer) uses LR to process then keeps his finals/portfolio in iPhoto so he can share them easier.  While I am not sure Photos will give us the tools we need for really serious editing, it will definitely help us manage our Photos, and share them quickly.  This is definitely worth something to me and I understand the direction here by Apple.
