V2 w/new 70-300VR gets hot.
1

Anyone with the new 70-300 notice that their camera gets hot after about 45 minutes in the field? Specifically if you use the V2 as I do. The camera around the lens gets very warm to the touch. I never noticed this with say the 30-110. And not with the 70-300FX..but then I usually turned off the camera with the FX lens to save battery.

Hate to say this but I am getting disappointed with this lens. First the difficulty locking a focus in bright light at 5.6 and about 10-20ft...and now the heat.

The only rewarding qualities for the new lens to me is that it appears really...really sharp at all focal lengths, it's small and light and nicely built. Also I think the manual focus takes some time to adjust. So far I've taken about 500 pics in 24 hours.
