I think the only one confused here is OP. First he posted the GH4 photos shoot with a wide angle lens instead of the telephoto he claims. Second of all, his idea of a good photo/lense is all objects should be focus. Any out of focus bokeh is considered inferior.

I have to agree with above poster about DOF of 70-200 F4 on APS-C sensors. It seems you really should use it on a FF sensor for decent shallow DOF out of F4 aperture.

If you use the same lens and the same aperture, you get the same Depth of Field in the image. The bigger sensor just adds extra picture around the edges.

and that extra around the edges allows us to move closer to get the same field of view when in turn gives us a shallower depth of field. F4 and APS-C may not be wide enough for those good shallow depth of field pictures. This lens would be better on the A7 series in my opinion.

I often find that the 55-210 gives me sufficient subject isolation.

Maybe if you only take head shots at 210.   I have a 200mm F/2.8 zoom on my Sony and can tell you the subject isolation it gives makes the 55-210 look like a P&S.   Neil's F/4 zoom in those examples does look much better.
